Hello everyone,
I'm about to start my Pascha basket cover, but before I do , I am wondering whether I should pre wash the floss that came in the kit (DMC 347 bright coral). When I spoke to the staff at my local embroidery store, they mentioned that red is notorious for bleeding when washed, especially on white fabric. If I do need to prewash it, what tips do you suggest? (i.e. water temp, type of soap, etc).
Thanks
One of the main reasons I use DMC floss is because it has excellent colorfastness and has never bled whenever I've washed it. So, I don't recommend pre-washing it before beginning stitching (nor do I pre-wash the fabric as that can make counting the threads harder). Hope that helps!
