Ok, so I am ready to start on my first Avlea kit... But the various floss colors in my kit are all intermingled in a large loop. The colors look lovely, but I am wondering what would be the easiest way to seperate the colors (they are kind of tangled) and get them organized. I love your method of attaching the floss to a wooden bracelet, but I am a few steps behind that right now. Should I cut the whole loop? One cut or two? Anyway, I'm sure you have devised a method that works well. If you could please share it, I will organize my floss and get happily stitching!

Oh, DUH! You would not believe the messes I made with my flosses. I had to have my husband help me. We laughed so hard. It took both of us an hour to deal with the Etruscan Diamonds mess I made. This was super helpful.
Yes, I'm looking forward to that step!
So glad to hear it! Yes, Etruscan Diamonds is really fun to stitch--wait till you add the backstitches and the design just pops?
Oh that's very kind, thank you so much! Your instructions were just what I needed, and I got things sorted out with no trouble. Btw I am loving working on my first Avlea kit-(Etruscan Diamonds)- it is very enjoyable to stitch. And looks really lovely even at this early stage.
If you have any trouble, let me know and I can send you another floss hank. Thx!
I should have checked here first--I spent yesterday turning this very floss collection (the Taproot kit) into a giant nest, haha. :D I got it untangled eventually. I will know better next time.
Thank you! That was pretty much what I was thinking, but I didn't want to make any cuts until I was sure.
When I wind the floss, I wind it in one yard loops and then turn it into a hank with a slip knot. You'll want to find the base of the slip knot (not the looped top portion) and separate the floss into the two halves and then gently pull on one half to get it out of the slip knot. After you've done that, you will have a one yard loop and you can cut the floss into pieces by cutting each end's little loops.
