This striking design originates in a vintage “rushnyk” (icon cloth) from Ukraine. Highly geometric motifs such as these are found in many traditional Ukrainian embroideries. The high contrast color palette is typical of this type of folk embroidery and creates a bold and vibrant embroidery. This design can be used for either a table runner, a cushion cover, or a traditional rushnyk.

If finishing as a cushion, you will need fabric for the cushion backing
