I love that you posted this in the wild! And it looks really nice with your craftsman style furniture. Perhaps you'll go into your guest room frequently, now that you're populating it with pretty embroidery.
I got a couple frames from Etsy and now I can hang my embroideries on the wall instead of propping them on a shelf. I have lots of empty walls and not so many shelves in need of decorations so this is an improvement. I love how this looks hanging in the guest room. I have a second frame from the same maker which I’m saving for the Tree of Life, which I’m almost done with.
Look at you go! This is really beautiful and your stitches are so even! I know that bittersweet feeling when you finish a design--so glad you're finally done, but going to miss working on it :)
@Cyovovich Bravo, you must use a wide range of stitches and designs. I've done some surface embroidery, crewel, but usually go back to cross stitch very quickly.
@Rachel Pogois I'm still learning what I like to do. Doing my first even cross stitch now, and this rose was my second ever surface embroidery. I am really loving both though, and think I'm going to be stitching for a long time!
I finished the whole piece this afternoon, even sewed down the back. I found working on this so satisfying, and I love how it turned out. My only regret is that I don't have it to work on anymore! I have a larger cross-stitch I'm also working steadily on, but I like having the surface embroidery project for when I don't feel up to exactitude. I do believe I'll have to order another embroidery kit! Should have thought of that earlier...
I can see how I improved throughout working on this. I think I could do a much more even border now; it was the first thing I stitched. But I don't mind the imperfections. They remind me of the hours I put into this.

Perfect frame and the Tree of Life will look so nice as a pair.

I love this and want to make one of the embroidery hoops. This looks really beautiful.
Beautiful! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Congratulations on this lovely finish! Can't wait to see what you do next!

Really lovely! I too believe you'll have to order another embroidery kit; which one?
