Just started and I realized I don't really favor the look of the dark terra cotta. Something just turns me off to it. I'll leave what I've already stitched of the color in but am changing all of the color in the border. I choose DMC 315 dark antique violet. I can already notice a difference with the dark terra cotta already in the work. My eye isn't drawn to it right away. I am a tad concerned that I didn't choose a shade that will allow the center colors of the work to stand out once done. I liked that about the design.
Thoughts anyone?
I'm a serial color changer, and was thinking of switching out the terra cotta as well. I like what you've done, and now you've got me inspired. Will definitely get out the doodle cloth before committing, because I have the large kit.
It looks great! Use whatever colors make you happy. You have to enjoy both the process of stitching and the final results. I often change colors. Sometimes my choices work, and sometimes they don't, but it's always my piece, and I like the journey.
It's looking so nice! I like the idea of changing the border color. I've also thought about leaving the border off. The palette is brilliant and I personally think it could work a lot of different ways.
