I m a beginner. I watched the 'How to cross stitch' video on this website, but I have also read that you should start right in the middle of your fabric. I am confused, please advise. Thanks, Jennifer
Sure thing! A lot of designs start in the upper corner and that's what's shown in the video, but a few designs start in the center because it saves you a ton of time counting stitches. So, to start in the center, fold your fabric in half and then in half again and mark the center with a bit of floss--open up your fabric and you've got that bit of floss showing the center. Now, look at your pattern and see where the center of the design is--you can mark it on the full-size chart if that's helpful. Start stitching the center of the chart at the center of the fabric.
