Hi again! I am about to start the Byzantine Rose BitKit and I wondered how you all might start this. Upper right and then all the way across, or upper right and down to the bottom then moving to the left. Start on the left? The first project I did the Ukrainian BitKit, I made a number (ahem, maybe more than a number!) of spacing errors which followed me throughout the project because by the time I realized what my errors were I was far enough into it that undoing it all seemed impractical. So depending on which section of it you look at it either looks nice and correct, or it looks like I don't understand the concept of alignment very well. 😂 I will say that I learned a lot on that project, and I want to do more, so that's all good!

When I start, I always start in one of the corners and work outwards from the corner. I don't count all the stitches across because it's just too much work and there's too much possibility for error :)
I work an inch or two out from the corner and then keep working the design outwards until I reach the other corners. I also "check" my work as I go--for example, I will double-check where a motif lines up with the outer border or another motif to make sure I'm not off by a thread. Hope that helps!
