This striking border features eight-pointed stars set in diamonds which are outlined with sawtooth edging. Several historic textiles from the island of Skyros in the Sporades Islands feature this design and it was often worked in red and black. My version has a softened colorway of coral and pewter gray and the design is worked as a double-ended runner—with a small outer border connecting the two ends—for a modern and versatile finish.
