This simple yet stunning design features a double use of an ancient "X" motif--in the center of the cloth it is embroidered as "X"s but in the border, it is worked as octagons. While the photos show it in deep teal blue, it is beautiful embroidered in any deep color such as red, black, or olive green. Because of its small repeat, it is also able to made up into many sizes, so you can use the pattern to make a very small cloth, a laptop cover, or any size runner you like. Pattern has visible repeat lines to make working various sizes easy.

My high quality kits come with everything you need to make the runner in the photos--26 count 100% cotton Traditional Groundcloth (imported from Greece), DMC floss, full color SOC (symbol-on-chart) pattern with both a close up and a full size schematic so you know how many repeats to work, along with a John James size 24 tapestry needle. The raw edges of the fabric are serged for your convenience, so you can start stitching as soon as you open the kit!
