This 100 percent mercerized cotton, 30 count fabric (15 sts to the inch over two threads) is a finer version of the traditional groundcloth. It has a very soft hand, and is perfect for crisp, intricate stitch definition as well as drawn thread work. At 70 inches wide, it is very versatile and suitable for long table runners or even tablecloths.

White--a bright white

Ivory--a lovely soft ivory, identical in color to the Mikini 26ct ivory

(please note: I have a couple of yards left of the old "sacaree" color, which is a deep ecru--if you'd like this color please order either white or ivory and then tell me in the order notes that you want sacaree)

What is mercerization?

Mercerization is a textile finishing treatment for cotton which improves dye uptake, reduces shrinkage, and gives the fabric a silk-like sheen. If you like to hand dye your fabric, it's great for that, too!
