Pomegranate Collection patterns are designs which I have not stitched a sample yet for the cover image, but I just couldn't wait to share this design! So, these are less expensive and only available as downloads (not kits or patterns). If you stitch a Pomegranate Collection pattern and submit it for photography, you'll receive a $50 Avlea website credit (and you get your embroidery back, too!).
This graceful lattice design originates in a cushion cover made in the Ionian islands in the 18th century. Its beautiful rhythmic effect is created by working all the rows of arrows in one direction in the same color, but then working the rows in the opposite direction in alternating shades of blue and green. While the original palette featured bright shades, I have deepened the colorway for a more modern look and added a motif worked in backstitches in the center sections to echo the drawn thread work of the original textile.
