This striking design is inspired by a bridal shawl from Corinthia and features eight-pointed stars and crosses set within a geometric border made up of multiple small borders. The primary motifs are outlined and then small backstitches are worked as tiny tendrils lending grace and elegance to the dense design. Shown worked as a cushion cover with the design centered in the fabric, it could also be worked as a table runner or even on the ends of a shawl as the original.

Finished size (on 13 ct, exclusive of hem): 9-1/2” x 20-1/4”

Stitch count: 126x268 sts/12931 total sts/14206 backsts

My high quality kits come with everything you need to make the embroidery in the photos--26 count 100% cotton Traditional Groundcloth (imported from Greece), DMC floss, full color SOC (symbol-on-chart) pattern, along with a John James size 24 tapestry needle. The raw edges of the fabric are serged for your convenience, so you can start stitching as soon as you open the kit!

There is also a coordinating cushion back kit available. This includes Robert Kaufman paisely fabric that matches the floss colors. The cushion back kit has two pieces of fabric, each side hemmed, and then basted together so you can sew it to the finished embroidery and finish it in the "envelope" style of cushion cover.
