The Armenian Ramshorn folk embroidery kit has its origins in a 1926 hand colorized photo of an embroidered Armenian embroidery from my private collection of "pochoirs", a type of hand-colored photograph that was used to document folk embroideries. It features the graceful ramshorn motif alternating with stars and Xs and its half drop motif placement creates a vibrant energy with bands of color that mimic traditional weaving. The bold black, terra cotta and olive green colorway is striking and dramatic.
