The Aegean Octagon folk embroidery pattern is a simple yet stunning design that features a double use of an ancient "X" motif--in the center of the cloth it is embroidered as "X"s but in the border, it is worked as octagons. While the photos show it in deep teal blue, it is beautiful embroidered in any deep color such as red, black, or olive green. Because of its small repeat, it is also able to made up into many sizes, so you can use the pattern to make a very small cloth, a laptop cover, or any size runner you like. Pattern has visible repeat lines to make working various sizes easy.
