Does anyone else do this when getting started with something new? What I’ve done here is stitched one stitch per yard of each color I’ll need for my next project. That way I can see if the fabric and floss colors sing together, and I can also keep track of how much I need! In this case I’ll need twice what I’ve got here though because I’ll be doubling Corinthian Bridal Shawl to make a Paschal headcovering for church.

Yes, I always test the colors for new designs, but I usually stitch a small amount of the design because sometimes the color harmony depends on how close or far away the stitches are :) Oh, the joy of a new project!
