I've used a K's Creations scroll frame for years and really like it. Downside is that you sew your work to the twill tape that's attached to the frame, which takes a few minutes but, overall, it's well worth the time if you're going to be working a piece that will be in the frame for a while. I've never had a problem with stitch compression and it's lasted a very long time (more than 20 years). I know they still make them, because I got a larger size in this past year.
I actually enjoy tacking my fabric to the twill tape. I learned from YouTube or somewhere to pin it out, first (IIRC from the middle of the fabric, out.) :)
I like my Arabeskas but sadly, not currently available.
