This week I realized how close I was to finishing the Athenian Palmette embroidery. Around the same time my husband very nicely asked if I'd be willing to make a cushion cover for his home office someday. He works from home full time and has been working lately on organizing and beautifying the space. (And I've helped by making his new curtains and gifting him a couple wall hangings.) I said he could have the one I was working on and then I buckled down and devoted a couple days to finishing the project. I finished the embroidery this morning and then immediately finished it up into it's final form during a Zoom sewing circle.
I'm just thrilled with how it turned out. What a gorgeous design, and it looks so good in its new home. Thanks for your beautiful design work, Krista.
OOOHHHH! I've been wondering how you were doing with this project - and it's no wonder your husband wanted it - your work is beautiful. It was really, really nice of you to let him have it for his home office. I find it funny how I can work on something and think "what should I do with this" and, just when I'm nearly finished, The Man will bat his big blue Greek eyes at me and seduce it right out of my hoop. That's OK, we live in the same house! I suppose you have the same thought? Anyhow, thanks so much for sharing this! She's in my queue, and I can't wait to get to her (and the 25 other Avlea projects that are keeping her company rn).
And look at you go! Sewing curtains now!
