A very dramatic design. I love it, but it does require careful counting. I've finished the first cartouche; 3 more to go. I have to stop working on this for a few weeks though to stitch a small wedding gift for a friend.
It's on hold right now. Sometimes there are other priorities. BUT it is still where I can see it motivating me to finish my chores quickly and get back to serious stitching.
Oh wow, I really like this design! It is looking great, and will make for a smashing cushion.

Yep, there's always a use for any kind of embroidery! I am working right now on a project and article for Taproot magazine that's about the repurposing of embroidery on garments in the ancient world. I'm designing a cute apron with embroidered pocket borders to go with the article and so I've been thinking a lot about reusing and repurposing fabric, lost/"mistake" projects, etc.
Can’t wait to see that! I have a very old apron with an embroidered pocket I stitched several decades ago. I used it so much the stitches have pretty much melded into the fabric. It’s so old, from my Aida phase.
Confession time...I measured and cut the material for a table runner. And then in my excitement to get started, started on the wrong end! Now it will become a small cushion in my living room. That is a happy ending for my "mistake".

Oh my word, this is GORGEOUS! I wouldn't have thought about doing only one row of the cartouches--that looks amazing and is a much more doable size. Love it!
Me wants it! It’s gorgeous!
This is beautiful. Both the pattern and your exquisite stitching!
Beautiful. Do share the your wedding gift stitching. Always looking for inspiration and “small” projects🙂
Lovely! Those colors. 😍
Nice!
