My first folk embroidery pattern and I'm totally hooked.
Loved stitching the Brindisi Diamonds, but the engineering of the needle book was quite the challenge. I think the line of diamonds down the spine of the book is my favorite detail.
The book is about 3x4 inches. I didn't read the note about skipping a space when you make a cross until I was done with the project, so it's effectively stitched at half the size - 28 stitches per inch instead of 14 stitches per inch. Lots of teeny tiny stitches, but it makes it look very intricate.
Overall very happy with this project and I've already set up my next one!
Oh this is beautiful Valerie. I stitched a side of the Byzantine Border and attempted to hem stitch it. I was very proud of my finished stitch but definitely not happy with my hem stitch so it now sits in a drawer! After seeing your gorgeous finish I'm going to rescue it from the drawer and turn it into a needlebook so I can enjoy it again. Thankyou for the inspiration 😊
Oh this is STUNNING!!! I love how you used this design for a needlebook--that would never have occurred to me and now I want one! Great idea and your stitching and finishing is simply beautiful!
Oh that is lovely!!!! Beautiful work!!!!
