Daphne is done and dusted! (Well, washed and ironed...)
I stitched this one as part of a holiday gift basket for a friend. It was my 2022 "travel project" -- worked mostly on flights, work trips, and our summer vacation. It's so hard to give it away! 💙 💚 💙
(It's also a cautionary tale. Notice how close that hem is to the design? I was distracted while doing the finishing work and accidentally cut one side of the fabric to 1 1/4" beyond the pattern instead of 1 3/4". As there was no putting that toothpaste back in the tube, I had to make it 1 1/4" the whole way around, which is not much to work with. Measure twice, cut once indeed!!)
I just love this design and your version is so well done! This is such a special gift, and I love the way you presented your work. Everything about it is lovely. The great thing about giving away your work is that you'll make your friend really, really happy AND you give yourself the chance to make another one for yourself!
That is so beautiful as a basket cover! I've been thinking of doing a design for next year that would have 3-4 small borders for basket cloths like this--something that would work up fairly quickly and be a great gift item. So, I'm excited to see you using it this way!
That is really lovely! I can see why it is hard to give it away.
I’m looking at your photo once again and I’ve got to say it looks so crisp and well pressed. The linen texture and the color are beautiful. I think it’s a fine piece. Fortunate is the person that receives it.
Oh my goodness, this is lovely. It finished up beautifully. I have this in my queue. This has motivated me to move it up in line.
