It is a very dramatic design and the colors are bold and beautiful too. It is actually only a part of the original design because I made a mistake when I started it, but I love it like this. Glad you like it too. 😊
Thank you. The fabric was a gift from a friend. When I decided to reupholster the sofa that had been in my mother-in-laws family for many years it seemed perfect. My upholsterer agreed and the rest is history. I guess I'm just lucky.😊
I hope you daughter's art teacher won't mind me adopting her expression "Beautiful Oops". 😉That describes a lot of things in my life including several embroidery projects!
Your color combinations are so pretty! I love the way the reds play with the yellow upholstery. I had no idea Lexine was so gorgeous. Now I want to make another cushion! I'm curious to know what size that one is. I'm thinking you re-interpreted the chart.
I love this so much! This would make a wonderful kit! Did you use the 26 ct traditional ground cloth that Krista has, or something else? There's something about this that makes me go OOOOOHHHHH! It's absolutely perfect. I really want to make this now.
Sorry it has taken me so long to reply and finally can't give you the exact information you asked for. I have a stash of ground cloth materials purchased on both sides of the Atlantic and I haven't kept careful records in the past. For sure I didn't use the 26ct traditional ground cloth. I used a 30ct ground cloth that I think is Greek. The color is not white, but probably more like the "vanilla" color that Krista has imported recently.
I had planned to do a table runner as Krista designed it, but honestly I'm very glad I didn't in the end because it really is a powerful design and I imagine it would be overwhelming on any table I have to put it on!
If you decide to stitch it keep me informed. I have liked this design since I first saw a very similar version in 1973 or '74. It was in bright orangey red and grass green--never liked those colors, but really like Krista's.
My goodness, Lexine is so much more beautiful than I understood from the chart in the Pomegranate Collection! So great to see it stitched.
I keep coming back to this post, not just to gaze at your gorgeous pillows, but to admire your yellow-printed sofa fabric! So striking and beautiful.
Gorgeous! And an inspiring example of what my daughter’s elementary school art teacher used to call a “Beautiful Oops.”😍

Beautiful!
Oh my word. Fabulous.
