If it's something flat, I will usually find something to roll it on so it arrives relatively not wrinkled. If it's too large for a paper towel roll, then a gift wrap roll can be cut to size. I'm pretty careful to also use tissue paper. You can wrap the entire thing like a giant piece of candy, then mail it in a mailing tube like they sell at the post office. It isn't the cheapest way to send something but, hey, you put a lot of time into making something fabulous!
Never would have thought about rolling! Thank you! And what about handing it in person, still rolled? I’d like to make one of the bitkits for a wedding gift and wasn’t sure how to present it 🤷🏻♀️
I've done this several ways. If it's really special, I will actually make a handmade box and present it that way, but I've become a handmade box fanatic. I nearly always roll a larger finished piece so it's received nicely pressed. If it's informal, tie a pretty ribbon around the piece for a nice little surprise as it's unrolled. If it's to be wrapped, I will roll and wrap like a giant piece of candy. If it's small enough, it's good to present flat in a box on a cloud of tissue paper. For The Man, he just gets it handed to him - he's usually peered at it and critiqued it thoroughly before it's finished.
I appreciate this very much, thank you! And btw, I really admire all your beautiful work!
